UNTITLED
Seven strobe lamps were installed on building facades on the way between three exhibition spaces. Strobes flashed at three minute intervals in the direction of the pavement, so that a chance passer-by could be caught by the flash.
*»…Being flashed immediately makes one feel annoyed or embarrassed for having been caught while violating the rules. …The experience of rules and punishment is one the most basic mechanismus of our society. …With her flash lamps installation Nika Špan evokes… a sense of illegitimacy, with which especially marginalized groups are inoculated, but which potentially affects everyone.«
